In the wake of a new three-year agreement between ABP South Wales and Corus, ABP is investing £800,000 in a 37t capacity, Liebherr mobile harbour crane to support steel export traffic through its South Wales ports.
The crane, which will be located at Newport, will complement ABP’s existing fleet of quayside and mobile harbour cranes and is expected to provide a significant improvement in flexibility at Newport. In addition to the acquisition of the new mobile harbour crane, ABP will also be tailoring the port’s operational systems at both Newport and Swansea to support Corus’s export requirements....
