Figures from Rotterdam port authority (HBR) show that the port handled 185 mt of cargo in the first half of 2005, up five per cent on the first half of 2004.
The volume of dry bulk remained stable at over 44 mt and throughput of agribulk, such as grains, seeds, animal feed ingredients etc, has remained at around 5 mt despite fluctuations. Imports of tapioca and soya beans fell, but exports of European grains increased sharply....
