European legislation requires the implementation of dust control measures to achieve specified minimum levels of dust pollution during all bulk cargo transhipment operations.
Similar regulations are also being applied, to a greater or lesser degree, in virtually all other ports and marine terminals throughout the world. In response to these increasingly stringent environmental codes, Geldof Metaal-constructie of Belgium has in recent months introduced a range of grab receival hoppers with capacities from to 50 to 150m3. These incorporate a series of fans which serve to maintain a constant negative pressure inside the hopper.
