The UK’s Olympic Development Authority (ODA) is painting a bright picture of the “green credentials” of the London 2012 Games, but it is certainly no watercolour.
Last month the ODA issued a public statement that its sustainable construction delivery targets were being exceeded. It stated that 57% of the materials are being delivered by “rail alone,” compared to the target it set in 2007 that 50% of construction materials by weight should be transported by rail or water....
