Beijing to link up Asian markets

China is to earmark US$40B to set up a Silk Road infrastructure fund, intended to breathe new life into large-scale trade and transport corridors throughout Asia.

The fund’s goal is to “break the connectivity bottleneck” in Asia, Chinese president, Xi Jinping told officials from other Asian countries at a meeting on 8 November, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
