The UK’s switch from coal to biomass power generation is fading due to confused, complex and contradictory government policies.
Of the UK’s three main bulk cargoes, iron ore, coal and agri-bulks, only the latter shows any indication of a continued and stable level. Consumption remains broadly the same although the ratio of imports and exports varies due to weather and domestic harvesting performance.
