Chinese exit won’t stop Oz NT mine

Plans by Australian miner Western Desert Resources (WDR) to develop a major Northern Territory iron ore resource have suffered a blow after the unexpected and unexplained withdrawal of a Chinese investor.
However, WDR managing director Norm Gardner said the Roper River project near the Gulf of Carpentaria will go ahead, with mining still expected to begin in May 2013 for first shipments in October.
