The UK Port of Tyne has ordered two “Generation 5” G HSK 6424 B 4-rope-grab, rail portal-mounted harbour cranes from Gottwald Port Technology, for its Riverside Quay operations.
The cranes are scheduled to be delivered in October and to begin use round-the-clock for coal handling by the end of 2007, serving mainly Handy-max and Panamax ships. The rail gauge is tailored exactly to the port’s infrastructure requirements.
