The popularity of hydraulic cranes has blurred the line between grabs and attachments.

The workhorse of any small coastal or river terminal is the traditional jib crane, normally diesel powered, tracked or wheel mounted and with a low boom hinge point. These cranes, designed for multipurpose roles for hook and grab handling, are mainly of single rope configuration.
