Baghdad has cancelled 600,000t of grain import orders from Australia because of Canberra's imputed support for a US-led military campaign against Iraq.
Some 2 mta of wheat imports from Australia are under serious threat, according to Iraq's charge d'affaires in Australia, who denounced the role of Australian Navy vessels, which are helping to enforce a UN trade embargo against Iraq, saying they had unnecessarily boarded fishing and tourist vessels in the Persian Gulf.
