MultiDocker debut

Based on its experience in designing loading and discharging systems for its fleet of Baltic-trading bulkers, Swedish ship operator Osterströms, in conjunction with Viking group in Eslov, has developed a fully-hydraulic, harbour mobile crane. Known as the MultiDocker CH65, it is similar to the Mantsinen and Liebherr hydraulic crane concepts, but is based on a Caterpillar excavator.

The design utilises a Cat 365MH excavator incorporating an elevating boom and pivoted jib on which the cargo handling attachment (grab or log grappler) is mounted. This is fitted on top of a raised portal frame equipped with the Cat 365 undercarriage and 850mm wide crawler tracks.
