Sennebogen cracks Asia market

Germany-based hydraulic crane maker Sennebogen has supplied its first cranes to the Asian market. Chien Shing Harbour Service (CSHS) recently acquired two crawler-mounted 870 R Specials for its operations in the Port of Taichung, Taiwan. The cranes are used mainly for transloading scrap metal directly from ships to trucks, using 1.6 m3 or 1.8 m3 orange peel grabs.

According to Sennebogen, the cranes are in use for 18 hours/day unloading ships up to 27,000 dwt and they handle around 120 tph. They are fitted with the B23 attachment with a 14m banana boom and extra long 12.2 m jib, as well as the Sennebogen Multi-Tool that facilitates quick exchange of attachments. In total, seven orange peel and clamshell grabs were supplied along with 1m and 2m grab extensions for extra reach.
