The Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia has been selected as the site of a new potash exporting facility by Canada’s Canpotex, a major potash shipper.
The Port of Prince Rupert experienced its best year since 2000, handling 7.7mt of commodities in 2006 compared to 4.4mt in 2005, despite the closure of its Fairview breakbulk terminal for conversion to a container port.
