Legal action seems likely after Alcoa Australia awarded its A$50m/year Western Australian haulage contract to FreightCorp of New South Wales – despite claims that the Australian Railroad Group (Wesfarmers/Genesee & Wyoming) holds the business until 2015. Australian Railroad Group purchased the former Westrail Freight business from the state government late last year and claims that the Alcoa contract was included in the sale.
