Locker/Jost join forces

US-based Rotex has acquired UK-based Locker Process Solutions. Both companies are active in a wide range of industries including agri-bulk, food, mining, glass, plastics and other sectors.

Locker Process Solutions has won a contract to supply 20 variable speed vibrating feeders to industrial chemical manufacturer Brunner Mond (UK) Ltd. The order was placed through main contractor Unifloc, which chose Locker to supply 11 feeders for Brunner Mond’s Lostock plant and nine for its Winnington operation, both in Northwich, England. All the feeders will handle and control limestone received directly by rail from a quarry in the Buxton, Derbyshire, area.

Aggregate production in the UK is a major industry. Output from the country’s 1300 quarries and pits is some 210 mta worth GBP3 bill, with demand for aggregates showing slight, but steady, growth.

UK-based Locker Process Solutions has supplied 32 variable speed direct drive vibratory feeders to the Tianjin Port Authority in China. The contract, worth over GBP0.5 mill, was secured by Portec, Locker’s agent in China.
