Pilbara Ports awards two major contracts for Lumsden Point

Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 59.8 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2024.

Pilbara Ports announced that a record 758.3 million tonnes of exports passed through its ports in the 2023-24 financial year, marking the fifth consecutive year of record-breaking throughput.

A recent joint study says that Well-to-Wake emissions in the Pilbara-to-Asia iron ore export trade route can be reduced by over 90% by 2050.

Initial clients Mineral Resources and Pilbara Minerals commit to Lumsden Point, a key port expansion project enabling diverse trade and renewable growth.

March 2024 saw Pilbara Ports achieve a 9% rise in total throughput to 67.5Mt, led by Port Hedland’s iron ore exports, amidst varied import trends.

The Pilbara Ports reported a total monthly throughput of 52.7 million tonnes (Mt) for February 2024.
