Pilbara Ports hit record 758.3 MT in exports
NewsPilbara Ports announced that a record 758.3 million tonnes of exports passed through its ports in the 2023-24 financial year, marking the fifth consecutive year of record-breaking throughput.
Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 59.8 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2024.

At the Port of Port Hedland, monthly throughput reached 44 Mt, with iron ore exports accounting for 43.2 Mt. This represents a slight 1% decrease from the previous year. Notably, imports through the port rose marginally to 192,000 tonnes, up by 1,000 tonnes from July 2023.
Meanwhile, the Port of Dampier recorded a throughput of 14.6 Mt, marking a 4% increase compared to July 2023. Imports at Dampier saw a significant boost, reaching 169,000 tonnes—an impressive 58% rise from the same month last year.
These fluctuations in throughput are influenced by various factors, including market conditions, port maintenance operations, and the needs of port proponents.
