Dredging begins on Lumsden Point project
NewsDredging at Lumsden Point in Port Hedland has begun, aiming to remove one million cubic meters of material to deepen access for safe vessel berthing.

This is a 10% increase when compared to the total monthly throughput in September 2023.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 49.8 Mt, of which 48.8 Mt was iron ore exports. This is a 9% increase when compared to the total monthly throughput in September 2023.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 224,131 tonnes, which is a 24% increase when compared to September 2023.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 15 Mt, a 9% increase from September 2023.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 143,845 tonnes, an increase of 24% from September 2023.
Several factors influence the fluctuation of throughput, including changes in market conditions, port maintenance operations and proponent needs.
