Doosan launches new materials handler

Based on Doosan’s popular DX210W-5 21t wheeled excavator, the new DX250WMH-5 materials handler has been designed specifically for a wide range of materials sorting and handling applications, such as those in the scrap metal and other solid waste and recycling industries, as well as logging.

Designed to carry out tough tasks, the DX250WMH-5 is built with front and rear stabilisers, and a boom and arm specifically designed for materials handling tasks.

A standard feature is the hydraulic cab riser, designed to give the operator better all-around visibility of the attachment and work area. When combined with the rear-view camera display in the cab, the operator has excellent visibility of the jobsite, according to Doosan.

The DX250WMH-5 materials handler is claimed to be easy to operate with ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel. The machine comes equipped with two-way auxiliary and rotate circuit hydraulics to improve efficiency. The operator can use buttons on the joysticks or an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments.

The new DX250WMH-5 is powered by the six-cylinder, turbocharged Doosan DL06PA water-cooled diesel engine, providing an output (SAE J1995) of 129.4 kW (173.5 HP).

The DL06PA engine meets Stage IV emission regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF), through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR) after-treatment technologies.

Doosan’s own Smart Power Control (SPC) system is intended to improve machine efficiency while maintaining productivity through variable-speed control and pump torque control, automatically adjusting RPMs according to the load being handled.
