Gottwald MHC for Multi Service Venice

Multi Service, the Bogazzi Group stevedore in Porto Marghera, has taken delivery of a new Konecranes model 6 mobile harbour crane.

The crane was shipped in pieces by barge from the Gottwald plant near Düsseldorf to Antwerp, and transferred to a ship that brought it to Venice, where it was assembled and commissioned in two weeks.

The crane, with a maximum outreach of 51m and a maximum hook lift of 125t, is supplied in the two winch/four-rope variant, as it will mainly be used for high-throughput bulk handling.

The high-performance characteristics ensure low emissions per tonne handled and, for even lower emissions, the crane is prepared to be fitted with a cable management system in the future to run completely electrically.

It joins seven other cranes at Multi Service, ranging between 80 and 200t capacity. The new crane represents an investment of around €3M, stated Paolo Dello Iacono, Multi Service’s managing director.
