Italcementi has contracted Bedeschi to supply handling equipment for clay and other sticky materials to its Matera plant in Italy.
The installation includes a crushing system, to be installed in an open field, receiving incoming materials discharged by dumping trucks.
“Because of high humidity, the clay is very sticky,” stated Bedeschi. “Bedeschi has long-term experience in engineering equipment able to function with all kind of materials and in any weather condition.”
The hoppers’ internal surfaces are lined with special anti-clogging material to reduce adhesion of materials to the walls. The apron feeder is 10m-long and 2m-wide, in order to correctly receive the materials and properly feed the double roller crusher.
“The key-feature of the scraping blade (which assures a very good cleaning of the apron blades), the proposed design for the chain (based on Bedeschi’s design) and the blades is considering a roller type chain, having the bending radius of each blade corresponding to the radius covered by the apron in correspondence of driving shaft,” stated Bedeschi.
The robust design and the rigidity of the blades are further enhanced by a U-channel profile welded to the lower part of apron blades, providing a total apron blade thickness of more than 120mm.
Hinged pans facilitate no-spillage of fines, compared with the higher spillage rates seen with overlapped pans.
The Bedeschi Double Roller Crusher is a heavy-duty piece equipment, with 2m-long rollers and a capacity of 400t per hour, with two 110 kW motors.
