The project is located in the east of the DRC, 152 km south east of Banro’s Namoya project. As of July 2013, over 14,000 metres had been drilled. Metallurgical test work has provided favourable results for both gravity and leach recovery.
In parallel with this, further metallurgical test work will take place to assess potential recovery of the gold. Subject to the results, this will lead through to a Feasibility Study.
Kevin Stock, MDM’s general manager of proposals commented: “MDM has an excellent track record in the DRC and is in a good position to put to use its in-country expertise alongside its team’s extensive gold knowledge for the Misisi gold project’s PEA. MDM looks forward to working with Casa Mining in what we believe will be a long and successful relationship from its PEA through to execution.”
