Bedeschi has finalized a contract for a coal transhipment system in Indonesia. The system, to be built in a shipyard in Guangdong, China, includes two receiving hoppers with associated belt feeder extractors, one coal blending mixer, belt conveyors, and one slewing luffing telescopic shiploader.

The system is controlled by multiple leveling sensors to monitor the quantity of coal in the hoppers and optimize the blending performances. Open sea transhipment solutions to avoid bottlenecks inside ports are a big part of Bedeschi’s offshore solutions.

Elsewhere, the handling company is to supply a bucket wheel stacker/reclaimer and rotative stacker to long-time customer ArcelorMittal Belgium. For the turnkey project, Bedeschi collaborated with Worley and ArcelorMittal Belgium to meet client needs regarding production, maintenance, and sub-vendors.

The combined stacker-reclaimer will handle iron ore pellets (bulk density of 2.4 t/m3) with a stacking capacity of 4,000 t/h and a reclaiming capacity of 1,400 t/h. The rotative stacker will handle a mix of material (bulk density of 2.4 t/m3) with a 2,900 t/h capacity.

In December 2023, Bedeschi was appointed by an important EPC in China for four complete storage lines in Nigeria.

The supply of 18 machines comprises: two lines for handling wet and sticky limestone and shale including trippers, bridge stackers, and bridge bucket reclaimers; one line for handling laterite including a tripper, a traveling stacker, and a side bucket reclaimer; and one line for handling coal, including a tripper, traveling stacker, and side scraper reclaimer.
