Bedeschi helps Takoradi handle its biggest bulker
NewsGhana’s Takoradi Port has received the biggest bulk ship ever to call the port since its construction nearly a century ago.
In early January, Gleadell Agriculture completed loading the MV RIG with 3,000t of Group 1 milling wheat at the Port of Dover, destined for a customer in Scotland.
The vessel was the first to be loaded at Dover with Gleadell’s new shiploader, which has the capacity to fill vessels of up to around 6,000t.
“Our aim is to be able to offer farmers opportunities to access the best possible markets,” said Jonathan Lane, Gleadell’s trading director.
