Kazakhstan looks to expand grain exports

Since August 2023, over 36 million t of cargo have been exported via the Ukrainian sea corridor, surpassing the figures of the Grain Initiative’s inaugural year.

Russia’s vice-premier Marat Khusnulin anticipates that Mariupol alone could handle as much as 1 million tons per annum of various cargoes in 2024.

Possible losses to the Latvian economy in the case of the manganese ore ban are estimated at several million in port fees and more than EUR 10M for the railway.

A total of 5.2 million tons of cargo were transported through port stations in February 2024, and 2.6 million tons through western border crossings.

The new Port of Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries includes facilities for containers, dry bulk, liquids and general cargo.

The port will use a US$12.6M grant to add a third berth for bulk cargoes at its Port Redwing facility.
