Alcoa to explore development of smelter in Angola

Alcoa, as the world’s largest miner of bauxite and refiner of alumina, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)with the government of Angola to explore development of a 750,000 mtpa aluminium smelter using power from hydroelectric facilities under consideration by the government.
