Next study phase for Rhodes Ridge
NewsRio Tinto has approved a US$77 million pre-feasibility study (PFS) of the Rhodes Ridge project, said to be one of the world’s best undeveloped iron ore deposits, in the East Pilbara, Western Australia.
Australia’s Fortescue Metals Group and China’s Sinosteel have signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding to assess the latter’s Midwest magnetite project, including the revival of long-dormant plans for rail links and the development of a new port at Oakajee, north of Geraldton.
