Sanctions force Russia to seek new destinations for coal exports

The international economic sanctions imposed on the Kremlin for its brutal war in Ukraine are about to dramatically change Russia’s economic landscape. Thus, as the West has been closing its doors to Russian commodity exports, they are trying to find their way to new markets. This is, in turn, affecting the operation of Russia’s seaports and Trans-Siberian Railway (Trans-Sib), the backbone of the vast country’s transport system.
