Further progress on Benguela connection

The governments of Zambia and Angola held talks in June over building a new cross-border railway to connect with Angola’s Benguela Railway to carry copper exports. The Benguela line runs for 1,300 km from the Atlantic port of Lobito as far east as Luau in Angola before running for another 400 km to Kolwezi in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to handle Congolese mining exports.
