Next study phase for Rhodes Ridge
NewsRio Tinto has approved a US$77 million pre-feasibility study (PFS) of the Rhodes Ridge project, said to be one of the world’s best undeveloped iron ore deposits, in the East Pilbara, Western Australia.
Further progress on Benguela connection
StandardThe governments of Zambia and Angola held talks in June over building a new cross-border railway to connect with Angola’s Benguela Railway to carry copper exports. The Benguela line runs for 1,300 km from the Atlantic port of Lobito as far east as Luau in Angola before running for another 400 km to Kolwezi in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to handle Congolese mining exports.
