Government of Western Australia heavily invests in ports

BCI Minerals’ Mardie Project, the world’s third-largest solar salt project, has begun operations in Pilbara, boosting industrial salt production.

The project upgrades 77 km of track between Carnamah and Mingenew to 19 TAL, enabling 25% more grain per train and benefiting CBH grain growers.

The Western Australian government will invest AU$22 million to expand Kwinana Bulk Jetty’s capacity and improve logistics infrastructure and planning.

Western Australia will get a heavy haul rail collaboration centre and a rolling stock manufacturing base, supporting the iron ore industry.

CSL and BCI will build and operate a transhipment vessel to support the Mardie Project, handling 5.35m tonnes of salt and 140,000 tonnes of potash annually.

MinRes has delivered the first ore on the ship from its Onslow Iron project, previously marking the arrival of two purpose-built transhippers.
