Double trouble for South Africa’s Transnet
NewsThe volume of mining commodities handled by Transnet has fallen from 181.1 Mt in financial year 2020-21 to 149.5 Mt in 2022-23, with coal particularly affected.
South African transport utility Transnet has taken over the operation of an inland manganese terminal under an agreement announced in July. Private company SAFreight Logistics (Saflog) operated the facility for five years until its concession ended.
