Panama Canal adapts to bulk shipping companies

Shipping interests and local political figures are pushing for a new Terneuzen lock capable of accommodating 100,000 dwt ships. The joint Belgian/ Dutch bureau studying all options, is due to report to the two countries’ transport departments by February 2009.
