Germany has a new player in the dry bulk port market. Privately run Hafen Vierow GmbH, located in the Bay of Greifswald, has established itself storing and handling grain, fodder, oil seeds and other agri-bulks and has grown to become the second largest handler of these commodities in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with throughput of around 800,000 t/yr.
