Canpotex and Sinofert sign MOU

Canpotex has announced that its board of directors has decided not to proceed with construction of a new export terminal at the Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia.

The downturn in the coal market has left some US ports looking for other cargo to handle.

Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP) has announced a ten-year agreement with Canpotex Limited.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is conducting a comprehensive study, a type of environmental assessment, for the proposed Canpotex Potash Terminal Project located on Ridley Island, in the Port of Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

Canadian potaash consortium Canpotex has signed contracts with its long-term Indian contract customers, Coromandel International and Tata Chemicals, to supply 670,000t of potash during the period 1 October 2011 to 31 March 2012.

Canpotex has signed a contract with Sinofert Holdings, China’s largest integrated agricultural company, to supply 630,000t of potash during the second half of calendar 2011 at price levels which reflect an approximate $70.00/tonne increase above the first half China price level.
