Pilbara Ports March 2024 throughput surges

Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 59.8 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2024.

Pilbara Ports announced that a record 758.3 million tonnes of exports passed through its ports in the 2023-24 financial year, marking the fifth consecutive year of record-breaking throughput.

Pilbara Ports’ May 2024 throughput was 68.8Mt, a 10% increase from May 2023, with a total of 687.1Mt across all ports since 1 July 2023.

A recent joint study says that Well-to-Wake emissions in the Pilbara-to-Asia iron ore export trade route can be reduced by over 90% by 2050.

Pilbara Ports has awarded two major contracts for the construction of Lumsden Point.

In April 2024, Pilbara Ports saw an increase in monthly throughput to 65.4 million tonnes, with significant gains at both Port Hedland and Port of Dampier.
