Colombian coal demand from Asia drives up Capesize shipping
NewsDrewry forecasts a 3.3% rise in Capesize shipping demand in 2024, driven by increased coal exports from Colombia to Asia, offsetting reduced European demand.
Ovet eyes a flexible future
StandardOvet’s unloading and transhipment activities in Terneuzen and Vlissingen on either side of the Scheldt estuary rely on floating cranes, a formula that has worked well for the company, which last year imported some 1.2 mt and 2.7 mt through the two facilities respectively, although a further 50% tonnage factor can be added for transhipment activities.
