China merges ports

The Chinese ports of Ningbo and Zhoushan in the eastern Zhejiang province have been merged to form what will replace Rotterdam as the world’s third largest bulk port by 2010, officials said. The merged entity, named Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, began operations on January 1.
