Ust-Luga move for Russian fertilisers
NewsAcron group, one of Russia’s leading vertically integrated mineral fertiliser producers, has contracted the European Sulphur Terminal (EST) at the Russian Baltic port of Ust-Luga to handle its exports.
The port of Riga is positioning itself as a rival to Ust-Luga for Russian transit cargoes. According to Professor Nikolay Mezhevich of St Petersburg University, the Latvian port is likely to remain the only port in the Baltic States capable of vying with Ust-Luga for Russian cargoes, when the Russian port’s facilities reach completion.
