MinRes’ Onslow Iron project reached a key milestone with the arrival of two transhippers in Western Australia, set to deliver the first ore in mid-2024.

Initial clients Mineral Resources and Pilbara Minerals commit to Lumsden Point, a key port expansion project enabling diverse trade and renewable growth.

Following rigorous testing over recent months, the new facilities have already been put to use with the first shipment of product last week.

Western Australia and East Asia shipping routes are high-potential candidates for establishing a green shipping corridor powered by zero or near-zero carbon ammonia.

Additional bulk shipments of non-magnetic (zircon), magnetic (ilmenite) concentrate and paramagnetic (leucoxene) products are scheduled over the coming weeks.

By reducing the need for long-haul freight between Perth and the Pilbara, the centre reduces carbon emissions and offers faster access to critical spare parts.
