Russian grain exports through Mariupol raise concerns amidst controversy

Russia’s transport ministry has backed a Russian Railways (RZD) proposal to invest around US$17B to expand capacity of the Baikal-Amur Railway (BAM) to 50 Mtpa by 2020. RZD’s ultimate goal is to increase BAM’s capacity to 100 Mtpa at a cost of US$33B.
